The engine and gearbox fitted,lets fit the rest...exhaust,intercooler pipework,butterfly valve,drive shafts and a suspension parts.
Started it up,runs fine...checked everything,all ok,test drove it drives fine,time is here to give it back to the owner...
Carried on rebuild the engine:
Clear timing gear cover ordered from USA...
Hydro dipped rocker cover...
New clutch fitted,gearbox goes on...fit inlet manifold,thermostat housing etc...get it ready for refit it into the car...
On the way to the engine bay...
I stripped the engine to pieces and it was the big end bearing gone on the no.3 cylinder....It was completely gone,and the crank damaged badly.I gave the engine to the engineers and they supplied a new crankshaft and a new conrod for it,and the full gasket set as well.
The owner said he want the engine to be rebuild like it is in the show cars.No problem.He told me what colours he would like to see on it and i started to do the job.
I cleaned and degreased the parts and resprayed them.
He wanted a black gearbox:

The pistons needed a good clean cause the grooves had a lot of dirt in them behind the rings:

Toyota MR2 16V turbo arrived with suggested bent valve or big end bearing problem.She was knocking,but sounded to me not a typical big end problem.The customer decided he want to have her done as a showcar,so he want me to rebuild the engine,but paint all the parts,re-zinc all nuts and bolts and build them up.
Start with removing the engine and the box...
