Carry on building the flat bed....
With some modifications needed to be done by other company, there is another tank ready to fit, with new straps, and the filler cap positioned below the floor of the bed...

The front bumper was bent and twisted, but managed to get it back to shape.
Now need to position it with the body line and the filler panels too.
Battery tray:
O/S gutter:
Mk2 instrument was fitted in it,and a nicely cut hole appeared behind it...the original instrument panel will be fitted, but the dash panel has to be repaired.New slot for the radio unit, and some hole for extra gauges has been made, but we don't need them to be there.
Seam sealing on the bulk head and the inner wheel arches...I think it gives it a good finish...
Now she is ready to go and have a full new paintwork:
See you later!

Will be continued....

The vehicle has had a flat bed on it before she came to my workshop,but...we checked it over with my customer, and cause the condition of it wasn't good enough,we agreed she deserve a new flat bed to be built, but in a style which is suit her,so I will design it to look similar to the previous one.

The floor will be wood, and the sides also wood with a metal frame around them (that's how they were on the old one)

I've still got quite a lot to do....lets do it!

The owner decided the vehicle has to be fitted with seats from a later model,so i need to work out what kind of modification has to be done to get the seats in.
The driver seat need to be bolted on a square base, which can be good to keep some tools etc. under the seat.
Picture
I have to make new fixing points for the double seat as well but first i have to finish with the passenger side of the cabin.door step, floor panel...
Now it's time for those fixing points...
The floor panel completed...

What Our Clients Are Saying

"Laszlo has performed the most amazing bare metal nuts and bolts restoration on my Jaguar XJS Lister. His talented ability to refabricate from scratch, metal panels that are no longer available has kept the project moving and at a very reasonable cost. It is rare to find a restorer who can weld, fabricate and also strip refurbish the engine and all of the mechanicals on the car."

"Top of the range work, can turn his hand to anything and everything is 110% perfect. - Mark Fruedenhauf, Cheshire UK'

"Laszlo did a great job on my Morris 1000, gave a reasonable quote, then booked in for some excellent fabrication work on basically a whole front end and door posts of my Morris and numerous other welding repairs at workshop - the car now rescued, looks original again. Looking at his other excellent work and projects, like the Jag and Issetta, my Morris was a walk in the park! If you need a restoration job doing then look no further than The Classic Mechanic - D. Haycock UK"
