Sorry for a late...
We experienced some brake problem on the vehicle, what needed to be sorted...the clutch and brake master cylinder have been a way for recondition them. After when they come back I've fitted both, but the brake master cyl doesn't wanted to work properly,I tried all the tricked, its failed twice on a test drive. We had to get another one, which is wasn't easy. Managed to get a brand new old stock.....this one worked much better, but we had some trouble with it as well.
Now everything is sorted and settled, and finally she is gone home.

Now the engine works fine...,but there is something else to do...the owner asked me to fit a coolant temp gauge, if its possible. This model hasn't got a gauge fitted in the dash originally.I said i will fit it,but i wanted to do it on a right way.I was thinking a lot how could i fit it to be visible and not to make modification on the original dash to ruin the originality.
The gauge is a Smith 52mm gauge in magnolia.
I thought i found a right solution...
Lets start it.

The gauge will sit in it with a small angle,to make it more visible...

Its needs to be painted to match with the colour of the dash.
I sprayed the primer on and rubbed it...i doesn't needed any filler on,ive done the metal work smooth enough... :)

When i removed the cyl head,i've suspected some more problems, and i rang the owner to ask him to come to the workshop and discuss what we should do. At the end of the conversation,we agreed the best thing to do to remove the engine from the vehicle, and inspect it,clean it,restore-rebuild it.

A Ford Consul MK1 arrived to the workshop from a customer. The vehicle is in a really good condition for her age,but she spent a long time in a dealership room from her life ,which is helped to keep herself in a good state.
She came for find out why she is running rough, and she is using some water (coolant) as well.
Suggested the head gasket fault,so after the compression test was done, i removed the cyl head.

What Our Clients Are Saying

"Laszlo has performed the most amazing bare metal nuts and bolts restoration on my Jaguar XJS Lister. His talented ability to refabricate from scratch, metal panels that are no longer available has kept the project moving and at a very reasonable cost. It is rare to find a restorer who can weld, fabricate and also strip refurbish the engine and all of the mechanicals on the car."

"Top of the range work, can turn his hand to anything and everything is 110% perfect. - Mark Fruedenhauf, Cheshire UK'

"Laszlo did a great job on my Morris 1000, gave a reasonable quote, then booked in for some excellent fabrication work on basically a whole front end and door posts of my Morris and numerous other welding repairs at workshop - the car now rescued, looks original again. Looking at his other excellent work and projects, like the Jag and Issetta, my Morris was a walk in the park! If you need a restoration job doing then look no further than The Classic Mechanic - D. Haycock UK"
